Pieces That I Adore

  • Hermès Kelly 28 Retourne

I am a sucker for classic design and timeless elegance. The Hermès Kelly got its name after the iconic actress Grace Kelly fell in love with a bag from Hermes while she was filming a movie for Alfred Hitchcock. A long story shortened, the bag was renamed after the icon!

  • Hermès Birkin 30cm

I have always loved this bag. I always thought that they were so chic! I adore top handles and the Hermès Birkin adds a layer of elegance to any outfit. It instantly elevates your look. I tend to opt for retourne rather than the more structured iterations like sellier.

Named after Jane Birkin who was apparently on a plane with an Hermes designer, and the idea for the Birkin was sketched on a flight sick bag. She had to have something that would make her give up her iconic Basket which she used as a handbag. She was notorious for being a serial over filler (like me).

It’s quite refreshing to see a bag really being used! The only modern celebrities that would really wear in their Birkin’s that I can think of are the Olsen Sisters. Who now have the famous brand The Row.

  • Louis Vuitton Speedy B

For all that I adore Hermès and their luxury pieces. I have to give props to Louis Vuitton for creating the wearable every day pieces that are some of the most long suffering members of my collection.

I have travelled with my luggage collection, I have used my pieces as day bags. I’ve taken them to every job i’ve had.

It isnt just Hermès that has an iconic history. The Louis Vuitton Speedy was a favourite of perhaps the most famous old hollywood Icons. Non other than Audrey Hepburn. Known as a timeless beauty and style icon. She was frequently pictured with her Speedy top handles.
